Good jazz music a real treasure to listen to. I was thrilled to try my hand at composing a website for The Eddie Piccard Jazz Quartet.
My goal was to replace this group’s various scattered and outdated online media outlets with one central website that would coordinate with their active Facebook account.
My liaison with the band explained that they always perform in tuxedos and that I should use that sense of style as a touchstone for how they wanted to present themselves on their website.
The site uses black and white with a silver-gray for accents. Color isn’t avoided, but, the classic black and white tuxedo style and elegance shines through.
We had a few surprising challenges with regard to media resources. Even though the band has been playing for a very long time there were few high quality photos of the group. Ironically, I later learned that the black and white photo I had selected for the frontpage showed band members that were no longer with the group.
I added an events calendar and automatic newsletter component to this site to help fans keep up to date with performances and special events. Both are features that I now consider to be critical components of any community or performance oriented website.
This is a WordPress website, and it was during this site’s development that I decided specialize in WordPress websites.
