A simple WordPress website that allows the Pastor and anyone else setup as an authorized user to keep the congregation up to date with the latest news and activities of the church.
They can update the online event calendar, create articles and easily embed videos of the worship service into those articles – for those parishioners unable to make it in person to the service.
They also automatically post article excerpts to Facebook and other social media outlets. In addition, the website sends out emails to subscribers whenever a new article has been published.
All of this helps keep the flock engaged and in constant communication.
A new feature I would like to add is to put an online donation form or button on the website. This should help congregation members to fund the ongoing mission of the church easier. Perhaps even set it up so that they can fund a specific cause that the church is involved with.
My hope is that by adding the donation feature online this would help the sustainability of the church as it would allow congregation members to tithe even if they are away on holiday or can’t make it to the worship service.
